Elena Polukhin

Dr.
Elena Lev Polukhin is a Board Certified specialist
in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with
an expertise in musculoskeletal and neurological
rehabilitation.
Dr. Polukhin received her MD in Russia, and
later on she completed PhD program at the
University of St Petersburg Medical School,
at Lesgaft Academy. In collaboration with
leading rehab centers in Europe, she conducted
original research in rehabilitation of disabled
individuals using innovative rehabilitation
techniques. Dr. Polukhin completed numerous
visiting professorships in many distinguished
universities in the USA and worldwide.
Dr. Elena Lev Polukhin herself was a professional
athlete, competing in the Russian Olympic
Team gymnastics and she had been actively
collaborating with the International Olympic
Committee. |
She is also an active community leader and
a humanitarian. She was one of the founders
of the Eastern European Medical Society providing
“culturally sensitive” medicine
to immigrants from post-communist countries,
and recently she was elected as a VP of the
nationwide Russian American Medical Association
. She actively participates in international
humanitarian missions helping disabled and
poor people all over the world (Israel, Honduras,
Peru and Russia), and currently she participates
in the Global International Health Program
developing international exchange PMR programs.
In 2005, Dr. Polukhin was appointed by the
Governor Tim Pawlenty to the Minnesota State
Rehabilitation Council. In 2006, she received
Bush Medical Leadership fellowship.
She combines her
clinical practice with academic activities,
and she is a faculty at the University of
Minnesota, in charge of the Integrative
Pain Management Program at the Hennepin
County Medical Center. The scope of her
practice includes musculo-skeletal and neurological
rehabilitation, combination of traditional
Western medicine and folk, ethnic remedial
techniques, BoNT therapeutic injections,
viscosupplementation, prolotherapy, physical
modalities, acupuncture and herbs.

Alex Tolstov

Capt. Alex Tolstov
is Chief Operating Officer of our clinic.
He is a Captain, Marine Engineer, recently
retired after 30 years of service in different
port authority, merchant fleet, harbors around
the world (Northern and Southern Europe, Middle
East, Canada). Alex is a am humanitarian,
philanthropist, and political leader. He has
an excellent personal and professional experience
in the leadership positions as a Captain,
community leader, and a human being. During
his career he was involved in multiple humanitarian
projects in FSU and all over the world. He
lived and worked in Israel, Canada and from
1999 he lives at the USA. Alex jokes that
he is a “professional immigrant”
with solid international experience; international
life experience; he is fluent in several foreign
languages. He is also serving as an Executive
Officer of the East European Medical Society.
Alex recently graduated from the University
of St. Thomas, School of Business Excellency.
